Job Description
EMJ Plastics have been established since the 1960's, originally based in Filey North Yorkshire, the business relocated to Scunthorpe nearly 4 years ago.
We specialise in GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) manufacture of construction-based products and export globally.
Our permadec formwork system was used in the construction of the Rio Grande bridge in Jamaica, just one of many countries we export to, and some of our more bespoke products you will find in most premiership football clubs across the UK.

Trainee Laminators

As a trainee laminator, you will be trained in the skills of hand lay-up and trimming within a GRP manufacturer. You will be working on the production of GRP formwork panels for the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting in the preparation of moulds and materials Learning and applying GRP laminating techniques (e.g., hand lay-up, resin coating) Trimming, finishing and inspecting completed panels Following Health & Safety Standards Carry out processes in line with ISO 9001 Quality standards Working as part of a fast-paced supportive team
What we are looking for:
No prior experience required - full training will be provided Good attention to detail A willingness to learn and develop new skills Reliable and punctual, with strong work ethic Previous experience in a hands-on-role (e.g., construction, grounds work, manufacturing is an advantage Forklift licence - desirable but not essential
Due to the nature of the work PPE/Face Masks are provided
Uniform will be provided after successfully passing the probationary period.
Benefits
25 per week attendance bonus (standard 40 hours per week must be fulfilled)
