About the role:
We are currently seeking a Trainee Lecturer in Science to join our Science department at The Bedford College Group
.
As a Trainee Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
Teaching & Delivery
- Prepare, deliver and assess high?quality learning across a range of courses, meeting awarding?body requirements and adapting to individual learner needs.
Learner Support & Progress
- Guide and motivate students to achieve their potential, monitor progress, address barriers and uphold positive behaviour in line with the Student Code of Conduct.
Curriculum & Resource Development
- Produce up?to?date schemes of work, develop engaging learning materials in varied media, and maintain safe, inclusive and diverse learning environments.
Administration & Quality Assurance
- Complete accurate course administration (registers, enrolments, withdrawals, transfers), engage in course reviews, surveys and quality processes to meet funding and compliance standards.
College Engagement & Statutory Duties
- Participate in team meetings, marketing and promotional events, and uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, health & safety and ongoing professional development responsibilities.
About you:
Qualifications & Subject Expertise
- Degree (or significant industry experience) in Science or a related field, plus GCSE?level English and Maths, with willingness to work towards a teaching qualification.
Teaching Knowledge & Curriculum
Awareness
- Ability to teach across Science subjects (biology, chemistry, general science), supported by up?to?date specialist knowledge and awareness of current sector developments.

- Experience working with diverse groups, strong understanding of equality and diversity, and alignment with values of Student Focus, High Performance, Respect, Openness and Honesty.
