The Opportunity:
This is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary role where you will develop a broad range of engineering skills. We are looking for an enthusiastic problem-solver to carry out a variety of customer-facing and workshop duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Maintenance:
Install, commission, and perform planned maintenance on a wide range of weighing equipment (weighbridges, industrial scales, medical scales, laboratory balances).
Reactive Repair:
Diagnose and repair faults efficiently at customer sites and in our workshop.
Calibration:
Conduct ISO 9001 calibrations, ensuring accuracy and compliance for our clients.
Customer Interaction:
Provide excellent, professional customer service and on-site support.
What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a proactive and motivated individual eager to learn and grow within the role.
Essential Requirements:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong working knowledge of IT (email, Word, Excel).
Willingness to travel regularly across the North East and surrounding areas.
Ability to regularly and safely lift weights exceeding 20kg (manual handling is a key part of the role).
A keen, logical approach to problem-solving and navigating challenging situations.
Advantageous (Nice to have):
Prior experience within the weighing industry.
Experience with workshop metalwork or electro-mechanical systems.
Knowledge of RS232/485 and TCP/IP protocols, electronic diagnostics, and IO switching.
