Are you passionate about supporting families and making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people? The Young Person's Advisory Service (YPAS) is a Liverpool-based Youth Information, Advice and Counselling Service (YIACS) that delivers a wide range therapeutic, wellbeing and youth work provision.
We are offering an exciting opportunity to train as a Parenting Practitioner, with paid, hands-on experience supporting parents and carers. This 12-month trainee post will equip you with the skills to deliver evidence-based parenting interventions, including group programmes and one-to-one coaching.
The role focuses on helping parents feel confident in managing their child's behaviour and supporting their personal and social development. You will also work to encourage parental resilience and promote positive life choices within families.
You will be part of a dynamic and supportive environment, working alongside our Wellbeing and Therapy Teams -- a multidisciplinary team made up of Therapists, Youth Workers, Social Workers, Parenting Practitioners, and Children and Young People's Wellbeing Practitioners (CYWPs).
We are looking for accredited counsellors, social workers, mental health nurses, or occupational therapists looking to develop your skills and competencies in parenting interventions.
Applicants who do not hold one of these recognised core professions but have relevant experience working in a mental health service--particularly delivering therapeutic interventions--may be considered for eligibility via the Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes (KSA) framework, based on the standards developed by the BABCP. (KSA will need to be completed post successful interview)
