We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support pharmacy operations in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accurate medication dispensing and excellent patient service. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with licensed pharmacists and healthcare professionals, contributing to patient care and safety across various clinical settings, including LTC, critical care, and hospital environments. (No Weekends)
Duties
Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, labeling, and dispensing in compliance with medical and safety standards
Manage medication intake and inventory control, ensuring proper storage and documentation
Support patient service activities, including answering questions and providing medication information under supervision
Prepare IV infusions following aseptic techniques and hospital protocols
Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient interactions
Ensure adherence to infection control practices and safety procedures during all pharmacy operations
Collaborate with healthcare teams to facilitate medication delivery and patient care processes
Assist with the training of new staff or interns as needed
Requirements
Prior experience in LTC pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or critical care settings is highly desirable
Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and aseptic techniques
Experience with IV infusion preparation and acute care procedures is preferred
Strong patient service skills with a focus on patient care and safety
Previous pharmacy technician experience or related healthcare experience is advantageous
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation
Certification or training in pharmacy technology or related fields is a plus
