About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and professional
Trainee Pre-Inspection Manager
to join our property team. This role is ideal for someone interested in the property sector and looking to build hands-on experience in tenancy management, inspections, and customer support.
No previous experience is required
-- full training will be provided.
You will visit properties after tenants give notice to guide them on what they need to do to return the property in good condition, helping them maximise the return of their deposit. You will also explore opportunities to
retain tenants
by suggesting alternative properties or understanding their reasons for leaving.
Additionally, you will handle
end-of-tenancy checkouts
and the
deposit return process
, including discussing any issues where the property hasn't been returned in the expected condition. You will help negotiate fair outcomes and
reduce the chance of disputes
escalating.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct
pre-inspection visits
when notice is given, advising tenants on cleaning/repairs required for full deposit return
Build rapport
with tenants and handle conversations in a professional, approachable manner
Retain tenants
where possible by offering alternative properties or solutions
Record and communicate reasons for tenancy termination
Carry out
end-of-tenancy checkout inspections
, comparing property condition against move-in inventory
Discuss deposit outcomes clearly and fairly, including when deductions may apply
Negotiate deposit resolutions
to avoid disputes escalating to formal adjudication
Maintain accurate reports and communicate findings with the internal team
Requirements
Interest in the property and lettings sector (no experience required)
Excellent communication and people skills
Confident having open, honest, and fair conversations
Strong attention to detail and good record-keeping skills
Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
Access to reliable transport for property visits
Flexibility
to work around tenant appointment availability (some early evenings or weekends as needed)
