We're expanding our Newcastle team and welcoming new

Trainee Protection Advisers

starting this November 17th. In this exciting role, we'll coach and train you in everything you need to flourish in the industry--supporting your journey to becoming a fully qualified adviser, all while helping families protect what matters most. If you've got a background in excellent customer service and a passion for supporting people, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role




In uncertain times, certainty matters. For our customers, that comes from protecting the things closest to them--their homes, families, and lifestyles. As a Protection Adviser, you'll offer reassurance and peace of mind while building your own steady career with clear progression.


Using empathy and great listening skills, you'll get to the heart of customers' concerns and guide them towards the right cover. From Critical Illness Insurance to Income Protection and Life Insurance, you'll explain the options clearly, documenting recommendations along the way.


It's about striking the perfect balance--outstanding customer care, strong regulatory focus, and efficiency to exceed performance targets. You'll succeed with attention to detail, a warm and trustworthy approach, and a real understanding of every customer's needs.

About You




You already know how to put customers first--your experience in sales or service has sharpened your listening skills and your ability to build rapport. Now you're ready to take your career further, combining personal development with professional qualifications.

FCA Certification Regime & Conduct Rules




L&C is classified as an "Enhanced Firm" under the FCA's Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SM&CR). This role will officially fall into the "Conduct" element of the regime, meaning you'll be personally subject to the five FCA Conduct Rules if successful in your application. You may already be aware of these, but don't worry if not. If successful in securing the role training will be provided.


In addition, as this is a customer-facing advice role, L&C has made the decision to treat all Advisers (Mortgage & Protection) in the same way, so we'll ensure and verify your integrity, competence and financial soundness in the same way we do with our Mortgage Advisers.
