We are currently seeking a Trainee Purchasing & Planning Support to join our team.

JOB TITLE:
Trainee Purchasing & Planning Support
JOB SUMMARY:
To learn and assist with sourcing, purchasing, costing, arranging delivery of all materials and scheduling production machinery.
KEY TASKS:
1.
Learn and assist with the preparation and processing of purchase orders for raw materials in accordance with production and customer delivery requirements
2.
Learn and assist with processing sundry items for departments
3.
Learn to allocate materials to specific jobs on Radius/ MIS
4.
Assist with the control of stock levels and preparing stock reports
5.
Learn and assist with ensuring that order confirmations are reconciled with purchase orders and any discrepancies corrected and notified to the supplier
6.
Ensuring that all records pertinent to the purchasing process are filed and maintained in a manner that permits quick retrieval
7.
Learn to and assist with the monitoring of suppliers on a continuous basis to ensure that the service and product is of acceptable quality / standard in order to maximise the company's efficiency
8.
Learn to check supplier invoices
9.
Learn to ensure that suppliers meet the requirements for BRC, ISO, PEFC & FSC
10.
Assist with the management of packaging waste and record information for the EPR and EUR
11.
Manage data for FSC & PEFC audits and participate during the audit if required
12.
Learn to process supplementary declarations via the Trader Support Service
13.
Assist in other departments when required
14.
Learn and assist with scheduling all production machinery effectively to ensure product flow in order to meet customer deadlines whilst keeping inventory to a minimum
15.
Learn and assist with planning delivery of raw materials in conjunction with the purchasing department to meet production requirements
16.
Learn and assist with planning all outwork from approved sources to ensure the product flow is met
17.
When required respond to any queries quickly so as to prevent or minimise production downtime or late deliveries
18.
Liaise with customer Key Account Managers to advise on problems or delays when required
19.
Undertake any internal or external training that is required by the Head of Purchasing & Planning

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:
Essential:
5 GCSE's or equivalent to include English & Maths
Computer literate with experience of different management information systems
Proficient in Microsoft excel
High level of attention for data entry
Excellent communication and team working skills
Desirable:
A- levels/ degree
