We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to join our team of Dedicated Radon Specialists. We are offering the role as a trainee radon specialist involved in detecting, testing, and advising on mitigation to reduce Radon gas levels in residential properties.
Based around Abingdon, but travel around the South and South West & surrounding Counties is required. Availability to travel to other sites around the UK may be necessary.
Job Type: Full-time, 6 Month Contract
Salary: 25,500 - 27,000 (Dependent on experience) + training + vehicle + tools + Pension + profit share + private Health Care, including dental, hearing and sight. 25 days annual leave (pro rata), bank holidays are additional, and a day off for your birthday.
Responsibilities may include:
Radon Testing: Conducting thorough Radon testing in buildings using specialised equipment and techniques to measure radon gas levels accurately. This involves placing Radon detectors in appropriate locations in people's homes and following specific protocols for sample collection. The placement of detectors is usually part of coordinated large scale projects across a geographical areas across the UK.
Radon Mitigation: Designing and implementing effective Radon mitigation systems to reduce Radon gas levels in buildings that exceed recommended safety thresholds.
Client Communication: Discussing test results and mitigation options with clients, providing them with detailed reports and recommendations. This includes explaining the potential health risks associated with Radon gas exposure and informing clients about the importance of Radon mitigation.
Compliance and Regulations: Staying up-to-date with regulations regarding Radon gas testing and mitigation. Ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with these regulations and guidelines.
Quality Assurance: Conducting quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of Radon testing equipment and procedures. This may involve servicing regimes, calibrating equipment, maintaining records, and following strict quality control protocols.
Industry Collaboration: Collaborating with other professionals in related fields, such as surveyors, estate agents, and contractors, to ensure Radon testing and mitigation is integrated into their work processes. This includes providing guidance and expertise on Radon-related matters.
Support Logistics:?Loading, transporting, and delivering of stock to various Mouldex remote sites, plus deliveries through our supply only customers, partners and colleagues.
Warehouse support, receipting and distributing stock.?Storing and rotating stock according to established procedures. Reporting any damaged or missing goods to management. Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules and schedules. Assisting with warehouse inventory controls.
Necessary Skills for the role:
Willingness to develop a strong knowledge of Radon gas properties, health risks, testing methods, and mitigation techniques.
Willingness to learn to use specialised Radon testing equipment and software.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret test results and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and inform clients and residents about Radon gas risks and mitigation options.
Attention to detail and accuracy in report writing, conducting tests and analysing data.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with industry advancements and best practices.
