About Us:

Daw Refrigeration Ltd is a leading specialist in commercial, industrial, and agricultural refrigeration, based near Exeter. We work extensively within the dairy and agricultural sector, providing installation, service, and maintenance for advanced cooling and automation systems across the South West.

About the Role:

We're looking for a

technically minded, hands-on trainee

to develop a long-term career in the refrigeration industry. You'll receive structured in-house and external training, working alongside experienced engineers on a wide range of installations and service projects.

Important:

Applicants

must have previous hands-on engineering experience

-- either mechanical, electrical, or similar. This could include work as a mechanic, electrician, fabricator, HVAC apprentice, or any role involving tools, machinery, or technical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with installation, service, and maintenance of refrigeration and cooling systems Learn electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic skills under supervision Work safely and efficiently on farms and industrial sites Support senior engineers and gradually take on independent responsibilities

Requirements:

Proven

hands-on engineering experience

(essential) Background or qualification in

mechanical or electrical engineering

Comfortable working in agricultural environments (farms, dairies, etc.) Strong practical mindset and problem-solving ability Full UK driving licence (or working towards) preferred Reliable, punctual, and motivated to progress

Training & Development:

Full in-house training provided, plus structured technical training at an accredited refrigeration training centre. Clear long-term progression route to fully qualified field engineer.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 31,000.00-38,000.00 per year
