About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated
Trainee Registered Manager
to join our brand-new
2-bedded children's home
in Walsall. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Deputy Manager or Senior Practitioner who is ready to take the next step towards becoming a fully Registered Manager with Ofsted.
As part of the leadership team, you will play an instrumental role in establishing and shaping a high-quality home that provides a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people with social, emotional, and behavioural needs (SEMH). You will be fully supported through training, mentoring, and professional development to achieve registration and excel in the role.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Responsible Individual with the setup, registration, and day-to-day running of a 2-bedded Ofsted-regulated children's home.
Promote a safe, caring, and stable environment where young people can thrive and achieve positive outcomes.
Lead, support, and motivate a small team of residential care staff.
Ensure compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and staff supervision in line with best practice.
Contribute to staff recruitment, training, and development.
Work towards achieving Ofsted registration as the Registered Manager.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a children's residential setting.
Previous experience as a Deputy Manager or Team Leader preferred.
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - essential.
Willingness to work towards Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and child protection.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
A child-centred approach with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
