As we continue to grow, we're looking for a
Trainee Sales Estimator
(or Estimator, depending on experience) to join our estimating team. This role is ideal for a
detail-oriented, numerically minded
individual who enjoys problem-solving, learning technical concepts, and communicating with clients.
Role Overview
The Sales Estimator plays a key role in turning customer enquiries into accurate, well-presented quotations. You'll learn how to interpret architectural drawings, calculate material requirements, and prepare cost estimates for timber frame projects -- with full training and support provided.

Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Quotation Preparation
Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents for new enquiries
Prepare accurate cost estimates for timber frame structures and related components
Measure and calculate quantities of materials and labour
Produce and issue professional quotations within set timeframes
Liaise with suppliers for material prices and delivery lead times
Client Communication & Sales Support
Communicate with builders, developers, and architects to clarify project details
Provide technical and commercial support to the sales team
Follow up on issued quotations and assist with project handovers
Maintain records of tenders, quotes, and outcomes using spreadsheets
Administration & Data Handling
Keep enquiry and quotation logs up to date
Assist with incoming emails, file management, and document control
Support the wider estimating and sales team with general office duties
Skills & Attributes
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Attention to detail and accuracy under time pressure
Good written and verbal communication
Organised, reliable, and eager to learn
Comfortable working with technical drawings (training provided)
Competent in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets
Interest in construction, architecture, or sustainability
Training & Development
Full in-house training on timber frame systems, estimating processes, and drawing interpretation
Mentoring from experienced estimators and technical staff

Qualifications
A-Level, BTEC, or degree in Construction, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not essential)
