About the Role



At NFU Mutual's North and East Down Agency, we're recruiting for an ambitious and enthusiastic Trainee Sales Executive to join our vibrant and supportive team.

This is an exciting opportunity to kick-start your career in sales with one of the UK's most respected insurance and financial services brands. You'll receive a structured development programme designed to build your sales and customer service skills, while helping you develop a deep understanding of our products, customers, and markets.

As a Trainee Sales Executive, you'll:



Maximise inbound and outbound sales opportunities. Cross-sell to existing clients using your excellent telephone manner and strong customer focus. Work collaboratively with colleagues in Service, Claims, and Account Management to ensure the clients you bring in are well cared for and retained at renewal. Play a key role in growing our expanding business, ensuring every customer receives the high standard of advice and service we're known for.

You'll have a Personal Development Plan tailored to your skills and goals, allowing you to progress at a pace that suits you. Once fully trained, you'll be able to introduce the full range of NFU Mutual's products, including General Insurance, Financial Services, and Risk Management.



Key Duties & Responsibilities



Sell our range of Motor, Personal and Commercial General Insurance Products, and introduce Financial Services and Risk Management solutions. Carry out prospecting activities to proactively identify new sales opportunities within both farming and non-farming sectors. Develop and manage a sales pipeline of quality prospects to achieve new business targets. Collaborate effectively with team members to maximise shared opportunities and agency growth. Build knowledge and expertise using the extensive training and resources provided by both the Agency and NFU Mutual.

Essential Skills & Attributes:

A real people person with drive and enthusiasm. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently to meet targets. Good level of IT literacy Excellent time management skills and self motivation Previous experience in insurance or financial services is desirable, but not essential.

Qualifications Required



Minimum: GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English, Grade C / Level 4 or above. Desired: A Levels and/or Degree (or equivalent).
