Sales - Measure/ Estimator Position at our Tadcaster Road Store

Full Time Position - 5 days (40hours) per week including Saturdays. A day off during the week.
Wages will be dependent on experience but with the definite starting wage as shown. Once past our initial trial period this can be reviewed.

Full Driving Licence Required. Physically fit enough to load and unload flooring to and from vehicles and store. Experience not necessary but a good understanding of basic maths and measuring would be helpful. We are wanting new local staff to be trained in house. Good career prospects as a lot of our managers started at the same level. Staff benefits with staff rates on all goods we stock. More than just sales as we visit customers houses to measure and advise on the most suitable products and methods of installation. We develop good personal relationships with our customers. Every job is different which makes it more interesting. Great team to work with across our six stores.

Sales Estimator

5 days (40hours) per week including Saturdays.

1) Sales in showroom - Serving, Advising and Selling to Customers

2) Measuring carpet and flooring both at the shop premises and in customers premises.

3) Driving in company vehicles to and from customer's properties.

4) Preparing estimates and customer quotations

5) Placing customer's orders with suppliers and handling customer payments. Including handling of cash, cheques and pdq (credit card) machines.

6) Using sage software for accounts and invoicing. To include banking monies with cash and cheques.

Unloading and loading of vehicles including delivering goods in/out

. I have to make this very clear that there is a lot of lifting carpets, underlays and laminate/wood flooring when we get deliveries in and out. Some carpets can be very heavy. Use handling equipment where necessary. If anything is not manageable then do not attempt but get help and if still not manageable do not do it. Please take this into consideration as it is part of your duties.

10) Window displays and keeping shop tidy including hoovering etc

11) Any additional tasks /duties as instructed by the shop manager to ensure the smooth running of retail shops.
