Extreme Scaffolding is an established Scaffolding & Access company currently turning over 8.5m per year. We serve a wide area from our base in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, including Stevenage, Letchworth, Bedford, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Greater London.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Commercial department as a

Trainee Scaffold Surveyor

. Working closely with the Director, Finance Manager and site teams, the successful candidate will help manage projects, contracts, and costs across a wide range of scaffolding works - from small domestic jobs to large-scale commercial projects.

You will receive hands-on training and mentoring from experienced managers, whilst gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle - from tendering and estimating to contract management and cost control. This is an ideal role for someone with a passion for construction, finance and commercial operations, whether you're a recent graduate, site-based professional, or someone looking to step into a more strategic role.

Key Responsibilities



Assisting with the preparation of tenders, estimates, and client quotations. Supporting contract negotiation and helping to manage commercial risk. Monitoring project costs, budgets, and cash flow. Evaluating project performance, preparing weekly & monthly reports to present to the Senior Management and Operations teams. Learning to review drawings, specifications, and site requirements. Producing, and submitting accurate, on time applications for payment. Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and site teams. Developing knowledge of scaffolding industry standards, compliance, and safety.

Key Skills



Essential



Keen interest in construction and scaffolding. Strong numeracy, IT and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. Professional approach with a driven attitude. A talent for negotiation. Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions. Full UK driving licence.

Desirable



Experience in construction or commercial administration. Familiarity with scaffolding equipment, drawings or working at height. An understanding of commercial awareness.
