Job Overview

Henderson and Dick Designs are looking for a motivated Trainee Sign Maker / Installer to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, working outdoors, and learning a skilled trade. Full training will be provided, with opportunities to develop into a qualified Sign Maker / Installer.

You will assist with the installation of a wide range of signage, working on buildings, facias, and ground-mounted signs across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

Assisting with

site surveys

to assess installation requirements Using

hand and power tools

safely and correctly Installing signage on

building facias

, walls, and structures Adhering to all

health and safety procedures

Supporting senior installers and learning industry best practices Assist in the manufacture of Signage within our workshop General workshop duties as requested by management. Assisting with the installation of

ground-mounted signs

(including posts and frames) Loading, unloading, and transporting signage and equipment Following drawings, instructions, and installation plans Working at height where required (training provided) Maintaining a clean and safe work area on-site

Measuring and marking out

accurately for signage installation Preparing materials, tools, and fixings for jobs

Requirements

Willingness to learn and develop practical skills Good attention to detail and accuracy in measuring Comfortable with physical work and working outdoors in varying conditions Basic understanding of tools (training provided) Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team Reliable, punctual, and hardworking Good communication skills

Desirable (but not essential)

Previous experience in construction, signage, or a trade environment Full UK driving licence

Training & Development

Full on-the-job training provided Opportunity to gain experience in sign manufacturing & multiple sign installation techniques Potential progression to Sign Maker / Installer role
