The Role
You will train and develop as a solicitor within our Clinical Negligence department, supporting experienced solicitors and gradually managing your own caseload under supervision. You'll work on complex and rewarding cases, assisting with client care, preparing legal documents, and contributing to the progression of claims efficiently and to a high professional standard.
This is a training position with the intention of offering the right person a qualified position within Clinical Negligence after this 2 year period.
Key responsibilities:
Advising and attending clients under supervision
Preparing funding documents and ensuring compliance with legal aid requirements
Requesting and reviewing medical records
Drafting instructions to experts and counsel
Arranging and attending conferences
Preparing letters of claim, witness statements, schedules of loss, and court applications
Preparing electronic bundles for hearings and trials
Ensuring compliance with client care requirements and internal case management processes
Completing delegated tasks within agreed timescales
Carrying out administrative duties where required

About You
We're looking for someone who is:
Highly adaptable and flexible
Able to work independently or collaboratively
Calm under pressure and confident when dealing with challenging matters
Committed, hard-working and discreet
Approachable, patient and polite
Genuinely interested in clinical negligence
Essential:
Law degree (2:1 or above)
Completed or working towards LPC/SQE
Maths and English GCSE (minimum C, 4 or equivalent)
Strong computer literacy
Good organisational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Desirable:
Previous experience in clinical negligence or personal injury
