Job Description

Mini Swimming are looking for new trainee teachers for our School Aged Children to join our expanding team. We are looking to recruit at least two new trainee teacher to work at least 2-3 shifts per week, at our Chelmsford pool (the option to work in Colchester aswell is also available). The successful candidates will obtain full in pool and professional qualification training. We will also consider a qualified swimming teacher (STA or equivalent). The shift patterns to be agreed, but would be :-

Child Only Classes (Colchester and Chelmsford)

2-3 Weeknights

and

either Saturday (8am to 1.30pm) - Mix of assisting in Baby/Pre-School Classes and Teaching.

The role would be aimed at teaching primary school aged children from 4 years to 11 years.

This is not a school day job so please do not apply if you are looking for just a school hours job. Classes run up to 47 weeks of the year.

This is an all year round role and not suitable to University students who do not live year round in Chelmsford.

Candidates must have a passion for working with children and a love of swimming. Experience of working with children or high level competitive swimming personally is a must.

Candidates do not need to have the qualifications as yet as extensive pool training and professional training will be given.

Candidates must be really willing to work hard, learn and master their new craft and be committed to being the absolute best teacher possible. Candidates will be assigned a mentor to guide and develop them but they must bring to the party the effort and energy to practice and learn at home to boost their pool efforts.

Responsibilities

Teaching swimming techniques to children in a safe and engaging environment. Monitor and ensure the safety of all participants during swimming sessions. Provide feedback and encouragement to help students improve their swimming skills. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the swimming area and equipment. Deliver structured swimming lessons tailored to the needs of each participant, from babies to beginners to advanced swimmers Ensure the safety of all participants by adhering to strict water safety protocols and supervising activities at all times Provide clear instructions and constructive feedback to help learners improve their technique and confidence in the water

Pay: 13.50-20.50 per hour
