Job Summary



At Kapella we are entering an exciting phase of growth and we are expanding our specialist offer for children and young people through the CYP Psychological Therapies (CYP-PT) initiative.

This role is full-time, fixed term and includes the opportunity to complete the

Postgraduate Diploma in Systemic Family Practice (SFP)

with the

University of Northampton

(February 2026 start).

The successful candidate will:

Undertake postgraduate-level study alongside supervised clinical practice. Deliver systemic and family-based interventions for children and young people presenting with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties. Hold a clinical caseload. Receive weekly clinical supervision, attend managerial supervision and ongoing professional development.
We are looking for looking for a passionate and creative individual who is highly motivated, adaptable and flexible in their approach. Balancing the demands of the course with the fast-paced nature of the role can be difficult, therefore excellent organisational skills and time management are a must.

Study Requirements



Enrolment on the University of Northampton Postgraduate Diploma in SFP commencing 2nd February 2026. Attend weekly university teaching sessions (mix of in-person and online). Complete all assignments, case reports, reflective logs and clinical assessments.

Clinical Requirements



8 - 10 completed cases 60 clinical hours (approx., including reflecting team practice)
Attendance of clinical supervision with a qualified Family Therapist (Band 8a or suitably accredited Band 7) in accordance with AFT requirements.

The University course is not optional and candidates need to be in a position to enrol with and travel to University of Northampton.

Key Responsibilities



Deliver family-focused and systemic interventions to support children and young people's mental health and wellbeing.

Conduct assessments and develop shared formulations with families and partner agencies.

Work collaboratively with families, schools and professionals to promote positive relationships and systemic change.

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and use recognised outcome-monitoring tools.

Attend all required teaching sessions, supervision, team meetings and reflective practice spaces.
