The Role

As a Trainee Therapeutic Worker, you will support people at Ophelia House to reach their goals and change their lives for the better. You will be part of a passionate and skilled team, contributing to the provision of tailored interventions and recovery approaches. This is a 12 month fixed term contact. At the end of the trainee contract, there are opportunities to apply for permanent roles within the service.

Previous experience not essential. Support Workers come from many different backgrounds and experiences, and you may have the skills required. We are seeking dedicated individuals, based on your values, willingness to learn new skills and the compassion to deliver the best service possible to our residents.

This is a full-time role working averaging 37.5 hours per week. You will be expected to work a 4-week rolling rota which includes evening, nights and weekend working. In similar organisations this role may be called; Recovery Worker, Recovery Co-ordinator, Support Worker or similar.

The Service

Ophelia House delivered by Phoenix Futures is a Therapeutic Community situated in Yarnton, a quiet Oxford village developed to meet the needs of women who require abstinence-based residential substance use treatment in a safe and therapeutic environment. Ophelia House is set in a psychologically responsive environment and run by a dedicated and experienced all female staff team. The programme is based on the Therapeutic Community model where social relationships, daily structures and a variety of activities are all deliberately designed to support with health and well-being.

This role will be working in a women\xe2\x80\x99s-only residential service specialising in providing safe therapeutic environments for those who have experienced multiple disadvantage and those who have experienced past trauma. Therefore there is an Operational Requirement for this role to be fulfilled by a female (determined compliant under ACAS guidelines for recruiting applicants with a protected characteristic to do a certain job).
