Tire Technician

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Tire Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of tyres on a variety of vehicles. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work effectively with both hand and power tools. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a commitment to safety and quality.

Training may also take place at our Radstock Branch.

Responsibilities

Inspect tyres for wear and damage, ensuring they meet safety standards. Remove and replace tyres on vehicles using appropriate tools and equipment. Balance wheels to ensure smooth operation and longevity of tyres. Repair punctures and other tyre-related issues as needed. Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Assist in inventory management by monitoring tyre stock levels and reporting shortages. Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries regarding tyre performance and maintenance.

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various tyre-related issues. Proficient in the use of hand tools such as wrenches, jacks, and tyre changers. Experience with power tools is advantageous for efficient tyre installation and repair. Capability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling tyres and equipment. Excellent attention to detail, ensuring all work meets quality standards. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy workshop environment.
