Trainee Vehicle Restoration Technician (Classic Cars)

Retroclassic Engineering specialise in the restoration and repair of a wide range of vintage, classic, retro and future classic cars, along with carrying out bespoke modifications and 'restomod' conversions.

We are primarily looking for junior candidates to assist in the day-to-day operation of the business and learn to assist with a wide range of restoration and maintenance tasks within the business.

Further training and the opportunity to learn a more specialised element of vehicle restoration within either our mechanical or bodyshop departments is a potential route for progression within the company from this role.

This role is based from our premises in Moreton Valance, Gloucestershire which is located just 5 minutes from the M5 Junction 12/13.

All applicants must have their own transport and be willing to carry out a wide range of tasks within the business, assisting the office and workshop/bodyshop with routine and ad-hoc day-to-day tasks.

Your responsibilities will include;

Media/shot blasting and vapour blasting of vehicle parts, media blasting of entire vehicle body shells (full training will be provided)

Assisting the restoration department with vehicle parts restoration including learning new skills from our senior members of staff

Cleaning/valeting company and customer vehicles as required to a very high standard and carrying out basic vehicle maintenance checks

Workshop and bodyshop consumables weekly stock checks

Site and equipment maintenance/improvements, cleaning of workshops/offices as required

Organisation of vehicle parts in storage areas and assisting the office/workshops with miscellaneous tasks as required

Van driving and collection/delivery of vehicle parts/general driving duties - local and nationwide

All candidates are expected to;

Take pride in the quality of their work and and have a strong interest in classic cars

Be proactive and keen to learn/receive training from senior members of staff, with a view to assisting the restoration team with wide range of processes for restoration of classic car components

Have their own transport (a Full UK Manual driving licence is a distinct advantage)

Be able to work independently to meet strict deadlines, and work well as part of a team

Possess a strong work ethic, a high level of attention to detail, and be punctual/organised

This role is a full-time position working Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm, overtime available

All candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of our premises in Moreton Valance, Gloucestershire, GL2 7LZ.

Rate: 7.75-12.50 per hour, dependent on experience.
