Job Description

Raby Road Dental Centre is a 6-surgery mixed NHS/Private and Cosmetic Dental practice who are passionate about patient care and professional development.

We have the opportunity for a trainee dental nurse to join our friendly team.

We would like to meet someone who is keen to learn about the job and is looking to continue their professional development in a forward looking practice.

Our modern practice provides a wide range of treatment including: NHS/Private treatments and Implants. We also offer consultant appointments for smile makeovers, composite and porcelain veneers, sedation, oral surgery, botox/fillers, Invisalign and endodontics.

Duties will include -

Keep the clinical areas and all equipment and instruments clean, tidy and sterile as appropriate according to the practice's health and safety and infection control procedures and manufacturers' instructions Use all equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and ensure that they are maintained regularly and in good working order Provide chair side assistance, ensuring that the correct equipment is available

Always ensure the care and welfare of patients in a friendly, helpful and courteous manner

Accurately complete patient clinical records as directed Observe patient confidentiality at all times Handle all substances in accordance with Health and Safety policies Be familiar and comply with all Health and Safety rules and guidance, including PPE, COSHH, Mercury handling, infection control, waste disposal etc Develop, scan and file radiographs and change radiographic solutions as directed Complete laboratory request forms, keep records of work sent, received and fitted Ensure adequate stocks of materials and other items within the surgery Ask the practice purchaser to order new stock supplies as necessary Ensure computer/written records are accurately maintained and securely stored Liaise with reception to ensure smooth patient communications and transfer of records Attend and participate in practice meetings Other duties as necessary for the efficient operation of the practice (perhaps including the duties and tasks of receptionist as required) Undergo training as may be required to develop your skills and abilities - including keeping up to date with current practice policies Attend refresher and update training for C.P.D if necessary - including medical emergencies and CPR

Act in accordance with the practice rules and code of conduct Skills and Qualification required:



Applicant must be willing to undertake training for Apprenticeship Standard in Dental Nursing which requires attendance at college 1 evening per week. GCSE English, Maths, (A-C)
Personal qualities:

Good communication skills - able to liase with patients and staff in a friendly and professional manner. Ability to work as part of a team. The post is subject to: Satisfactory health screening via occupational health/GP which includes Hepatitis B immunisation Satisfactory references. The practice hours are Monday - Friday: 8:15-5:30pm The post is subject to Enhanced DBS check Possible start date: as soon as possible This will be an apprenticeship wage scheme. https://www.gov.uk/national-minimum-wage-rates
