Overview


We are seeking a skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing our development and operational processes, ensuring seamless integration and deployment of software applications. This position requires a strong understanding of both development and operations, with a focus on automation, continuous integration, and cloud infrastructure.

Duties



Collaborate with development teams to implement DevOps practices and methodologies. Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub. Maintain and optimise cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS or Azure. Automate deployment processes using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues using New Relic, Splunk, or similar tools. Manage container orchestration with Kubernetes and Docker. Ensure disaster recovery plans are in place and tested regularly. Conduct system testing and software quality assurance to ensure reliability and performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs. Provide technical support for system administration tasks across various environments including Linux, Windows Server, and CentOS.

Skills


The successful candidate should possess the following skills:

Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash (Unix shell), or PowerShell. Experience with configuration management tools like Puppet or Chef. Familiarity with databases including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, DynamoDB, or Oracle. Knowledge of web technologies such as JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, .NET, or Node.js. Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, WAN/LAN configurations. Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware) and cloud computing (AWS, Google Cloud Platform). Ability to work with version control systems like SVN or Git. Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) principles and methodologies. Strong debugging skills and experience in incident management. Knowledge of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs is advantageous.
