Hours: 37 per week (including some evening classes up to 9pm)

We are seeking a Trainer in Engineering (Fabrication & Welding) to join our team at our Crewe Campus.


This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative and inspiring Trainer to provide learners with an outstanding learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Train on a range of courses in Engineering (Fabrication & Welding); Undertaking other duties including tutorial support and associated administrative tasks; and*
Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons in line with College policies

Key Person Specification Requirements:

Degree (or equivalent*) in a Engineering (Fabrication & Welding);
GCSE Grade C (4/5)in English and Maths; Knowledge and experience in MIG, TIG, MMA (Stick) and oxy-acetylene welding techniques; Industry relevant experience in Fabrication & Welding; Experience of teaching and assessing on a range of courses up to Level 3; Evidence of ongoing professional development; Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in work and the learning environment; Up-to-date occupational experience; and*
Enhanced DBS check

We welcome applications from Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) and from current industry practitioners who do not have a teaching qualification. Anyone joining the College will be part of a Teacher/Trainer Development Programme which provides staff with a range of support and training based on previous experience and individual need. The programme will offer a range of support and development opportunities, including inductions related to all College systems and processes, an assigned curriculum mentor and regular 1-2-1 support from the Quality team. Industry experts who do not currently hold a teaching qualification will be supported through our 'Introduction to Teaching at Cheshire College South & West 12-week programme.
