At CASY, we support young peoples mental health in several ways:
- We provide a confidential community-based counselling service to people aged 6 to 25 from our main office in Newark.
- We also provide a counselling service in schools across the East Midlands.
- We are invested in counsellor development to help build the workforce of the future. We do this by providing training on relevant topics to our counsellors and other professionals supporting young people. We have developed, and delivered a range of CPD courses.
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Trainer to join our team. As a Trainer, you will be responsible for developing and delivering training programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of our Counsellors. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and mentoring abilities, as well as a strong background as a practising counsellor themselves. Experience of developing training programmes and experience of using automation is highly desired.
Responsibilities:
1. To write and deliver stand alone modules to cover topics required for counsellor CPD sessions.
2. Identify and agree counsellor training topics from monthly management meetings, to be developed into group sessions.
3. To deliver training by live video link for example Zoom.
4. To maintain individual development records including internal and external training sessions/workshops attended
5. To source external specialist training providers if required, overseeing content and delivery
6. To develop and deliver a training programme aimed at improving the skills of relevant professionals who work with children and young people. This includes, but not limited to, schools' staff, social and welfare staff, and the charity sector.
7. To work towards NCPS accreditation for each training module developed.
8. To work closely with our Admin support team, to promote the training packages.
9. To create and deliver a core training programme to develop volunteer and qualified counsellors, aimed at improving the emotional health and wellbeing of children and young people aged 6 to 25.
10. To ensure all counsellors receive statutory 'Core' training in line with CASY procedures and timeframes. And to record this on individual development records.
