Landmarc Support services currently have an exciting opportunity for a Training Area Operative - Main Tower Assistant, to join the team at Donna Nook Air Weapons Range, situated on the East Coast in Lincolnshire, between Grimsby and Mablethorpe.


As the Training Area Operative - Main Tower Assistant, you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train, this pivotal role is essential to the delivery of the contract.


We are looking for someone who is keen to work outdoors in a rural environment, previous experience in a similar industry is desirable but not essential. Landmarc offer great career progression and will provide full training to the successful applicant.

Shifts run between:

07:30 - 22:30 fromMonday to Friday.

Main Responsibilities

Grounds maintenance and sustainability tasks Preparing training areas for use Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment Manufacturing targets and target repairs Ensuring safety protocols during live firing practice Driving and operating fleet vehicles Carry out additional tasks as required

This role will include normal Training Area Operative duties, as well as the following:

Use of correct radio terminology and phraseology for clear communication Operating marine radios to communicate with nearby shipping Managing and operating the bomb scoring computer system Acting as a point of contact and performing lone worker checks for lookout towers Relaying information from aircraft to lookout towers during training exercises Using range management systems to monitor and display range activity Coordinating range bookings and liaising with military units Understanding of range targets and associated weapon systems Handling civilian air traffic requests for range crossings Use of warning systems including training control offices, radar, flags and night lights
Ensuring public safety, report and deal with unauthorised persons on the Training Area Estate control of access, reporting defects

The Ideal Candidate

Knowledge of Health & Safety such as COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments and safe systems of work Knowledge of working outdoors in a rural environment Basic labouring, caretaking and DIY skills Excellent communication and IT skills Demonstrate proven track record of achieving objectives Work in a diverse multi-tasking mobile team environment Willingness to undertake training to work in high risk areas Previous Military experience (desirable but not essential) Weather Observer (desirable but not essential as full training will be provided) Must hold Full Valid UK Driving Licence
