Brief Description
To oversee the identification and delivery of training for all relevant employees within the area of control, to support business objectives and continuous improvement capability. Delivering training within budget working closely with the Professional Development & Training (PD&T).

About the role (External)

Your Main Responsibilities will be to:

1. Work with PD&T to identify and address operational training requirements and agree and deliver consistency in training content, objectives and required outputs across the business.

2. Lead the development and review of a competency management framework, liaising with other teams and functions as appropriate.

3. Coordinate Training & Competency Specialists to deliver nationally approved training programmes in accordance with NR training standards

4. Work with the route management team to develop training and development programmes to address both local area training needs and training as part of the performance review process.

5. Work with project teams to forecast and schedule training programmes when new systems and processes are being transferred into business as usual.

6. Manage the route operational training facilities and associated training equipment through cost effective budget allocation.

7. For relevant Network Rail employees and where appropriate other railway groups, manage the work with PD&T to deliver fit for purpose competence standards and associated arrangements to support continuous improvement, share good practice and provide consistent delivery of all training programmes.

8. Develop and deliver competence assessment programmes for all relevant roles within the area of control and where appropriate other railway groups, which support the achievement of key business targets and measures and enables compliance with required competency standards.

9. Consistently evaluate and report on the quality and standard of training provided.

You will ideally have:

\xc2\xb7 Ability to provide technical leadership to appropriate peer group

\xc2\xb7 Excellent planning and prioritisation skills

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge training methodology

\xc2\xb7 Significant operational experience

\xc2\xb7 Significant assessment experience

\xc2\xb7 Excellent communication skills

\xc2\xb7 Relevant training qualification
