General role description



We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Training Coordinator to join our team. Working collaboratively across the business the Training Coordinator will help organise our training courses ensuring that processes and systems are followed and aligned with business needs and industry standards. As part of the wider team the role will also take the role of Deputy Sentinel Coordinator and Rail Training Administrator supporting compliance and continuous improvement across our operations.

Duties and responsibilities



Core responsibilities will include:

Co-ordination of all assessments and training undertaken by Skill Step training in line with company policies and procedures, Awarding Organisation requirements, RTAS rules and industry standards. Maintaining internal staff training matrix planning a 3 month look ahead for all internal staff recertification and assessments ensuring no competencies expire. Lead weekly internal Training meetings. Planning, scheduling and organisation of training courses and assessments. Booking facilities and ordering equipment/resources required for training and assessment events. Engage and maintain effective working relationships with clients ensuring that their training needs are met. Manage the training calendar and booking systems ensuring that all company training events are captured and communicated. Record all bookings and make information available for appropriate colleagues. Communicate booking confirmation details to delegates/clients, including any pre course information in a timely manner. Co-ordinate the booking of all training events with the associated awarding organisation. Ensure training and course documents are processed in line with awarding organisation requirements, RTAS Rules and company quality management systems. Maintaining Skills Backbone's Events Calendar ensuring that all events are added in line with timescales and requirements. Ensuring that sub-sponsor forms are completed and returned in a timely manner. Undertaking relevant pre-requisite checks in line with the training and assessment documents from Training Toolkit and awarding body specifications. Pre-populate Trainer/Assessor packs and Individual Learning Plans. Dispatch certificates in a timely manner. Ensure training and assessment documents are returned, filed, inputted and stored correctly and timely. Book any hotel and travel arrangements if required. Ensure accurate recording of learner data using our MIS system. Support with the designing and updating of course materials. Invigilate courses and online exams where required. Actively promote Skill Step Training's courses through various means e.g. networking events, direct marketing, social media etc. Support with and promote day to day Health and Safety within the centres. Support with audit and inspection preparations (e.g. RISQS/NSAR). Supporting with the completion of the Self-Assessment Report and Quality Improvement Plan. Act as Deputy Sentinel Coordinator for the business
General duties and responsibilities will include:

To give consideration to their actions at work as to how they may affect the safety of learners, clients and visitors to Company premises. Support the organisations core values. Co-operate with all staff to achieve a healthy and safe workplace and reporting any risks identified, at the company's or others premises, to the designated Health and Safety Officer. Other duties that may be identified from time to time by the Company. Attend relevant training / personal development programmes.

Skills and Knowledge



Essential skills, knowledge and experience required to fulfil the role include, but are not limited to:

Knowledge of NSAR, RTAS and Sentinel Scheme Rules. Education and/or Training industry experience. Good IT skills in outlook, word, excel and PowerPoint. Experience of using a Management Information System. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills. Ability to work on own initiative and part of a team. Ability to plan and prioritise workload and work to tight deadlines. Has an eye for detail. Good timekeeping and attendance. Ability to work with confidential and sensitive data. A positive, proactive and can-do approach to all elements of work. Able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment. Has high personal standards and takes pride in work.
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience required to fulfil the role include, but are not limited to:

Knowledge of Awarding Body requirements. Knowledge of safeguarding. Experience of working with an NSAR approved organisation.
