Learning & Development Specialist
Location: Liverpool Hybrid (some UK travel required)
Type: Full-time, permanent

We're looking for an experienced and proactive Learning & Development Specialist/Internal Trainer to play a key role in shaping and delivering an engaging, commercially focused L&D offering. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact by designing and delivering high-quality learning experiences that drive performance and support business growth.
The Role
As our Learning & Development Specialist, you'll work closely with leaders and colleagues across the business to identify learning needs and deliver impactful development solutions. You'll operate across the full learning cycle - from needs analysis and design through to delivery and evaluation, ensuring our learning interventions are relevant, engaging and aligned to strategic priorities.
You'll be a trusted advisor, building strong relationships across the organisation and acting as a go-to contact for L&D support within a designated business area.
This role requires a commercially aware, collaborative individual who thrives in a hybrid environment and is comfortable delivering both virtually and face-to-face across UK locations when required.
What You'll Be Doing

  • Partnering with stakeholders to identify learning and development needs
  • Designing and delivering engaging workshops and programmes (virtual and in person)
  • Supporting career development, leadership development, business/behavioural skills and digital learning initiatives
  • Applying blended learning approaches to maximise impact
  • Evaluating learning effectiveness and using data to continuously improve the L&D offer
  • Acting as a trusted L&D advisor within your aligned business area
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across HR and other support functions
  • Contributing to the development of a modern, seamless and high-performing people function
Requirements
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience designing and facilitating engaging workshops (virtual and face-to-face)
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and how to apply them in practice
  • Experience conducting training needs analysis
  • Confidence working across the full learning cycle
  • Ability to build rapport quickly with a wide range of stakeholders
  • A customer-first mindset with strong commercial awareness
  • Comfortable working within agreed processes and governance frameworks
  • Data-driven approach to improving learning effectiveness
  • Resilient, proactive and solutions-focused
  • Level 3 (or above) qualification in L&D or HR
  • Willingness to travel within the UK when required
Desirable (but not essential)
  • Membership of a recognised HR or L&D professional body (e.g. CIPD)
  • Experience within a professional or corporate services environment
  • Additional L&D-related qualifications (e.g. coaching, psychometrics, NLP)
  • Full UK driving licence
