Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Support Co-Ordinator who can take on a Co-Ordinator role to provide support for internal support workers and also individuals who go through our training programs. Social Care or Mental Health experience/qualifications are important due to the nature of the support being provided. Internal support for staff will be to help support them as they work with clients. External support will primarily be for vulnerable individuals with addiction, mental health and financial challenges. Oversee referrals to relevant external services and support. Including, CAB, Change Grow Live, Counselling and other support services. Will have a small case load where possible while prioritizing support for the Support Workers and other role related duties.

The Role



As a Training Support Co-Ordinator you will help the Training Support Manager oversee a team of Training Support Workers and other staff, alongside the work with individuals with various levels of need. This will include supporting staff to make personal improvement plans and recommendations for clients. Also look at potential improvements to the program and general staff management duties such as absence management. Detailed list of duties and responsibilities are detailed in next section.

Our Transformational training program is open to all. Your role will be to work with support workers and clients as they progress through the training program over a period of months and provide after support once they complete the course to ensure positive outcomes are not only achieved but maintained. Mentoring is a key element of the role, promoting a flexible yet consistent approach to engaging in rehabilitation, employment, training and/or education, budgeting and building on their social skills and development to achieve their goals in life.

You will be required to offer practical, emotional and social support. A person-centred approach will be adopted to ensure we are meeting the needs of each individual we support. Full support will be given by senior staff including line manager which is the Training Support Manager.

A primary part of the role will be to champion our company wide mantra that positive thinking can bring positive change and that people also need to be willing to receive the support we provide, so that resources are best allocated to those in need.

Main Duties & Responsibilities



Overseeing of Staff



Oversee and support Training Support Workers as they work with training clients. Check and approve client recommendations made by Support workers. Check Personal Improvement Plan's for Clients to ensure best plan. Check and approve appropriate follow-up plans for clients and liaise with Support Manager to allocate any necessary resources Check for training and quality improvements where necessary. Ensure staff follow procedures and safeguarding for working with clients Manage and approve staff absences and other Co-Ordinator related tasks

Training & Development



Make sure that prior to each client commencing the training, a client assessment and risk assessment with the client, and/or their chosen representatives, has been completed Creating relevant in-house training programmes and resources for staff Selecting the most appropriate training methods and activities Performing needs assessment to identify knowledge gaps and areas in need of improvement for staff Providing vital information about training sessions and informing personnel about available training Researching and recommending new training techniques, researching the curriculum and updating/improving it to reflect developments within the industry and societal needs Help develop and convert the training program for easy online usage and access. Oversee the online aspects of our training delivery, including oversee online session delivery Explore ways to compress the training program to for example 3 weeks. Also explore different training programs we can develop including our future school education program. Sourcing training supplies and materials to enhance the instruction programme

Client Support



Support individuals through the months long training program, including basic administrative support if required. Support individuals through their addiction recovery, mental health issues and financial challenges. Including budgeting and trauma support. Work with individuals to develop an after-plan for post training success outcomes Support the development of person supported skills, confidence and self-esteem. Encouraging and supporting the development of new skills Provide and participate in appropriate support planning, review and assessment whilst ensuring people are central to these processes. Develop person supported life management and independent living skills. Support people to achieve their educational, training or employment options. Assess individual needs and give positive recommendations for improvements Be available for phonecalls, monthly interviews and video calls and general communication with clients. Be available a few evenings a week, to support clients and other support workers during evening training sessions. Work in partnership and develop professional, positive working relationships. Receive training and support to be able to deliver the Pioneer Training program as required and do relevant presentations. Therefore, public speaking may be required.

Champion Our Pioneer Principles and Approaches



A significant part of the role will be to be a company ambassador for our principles, guidelines and approaches. This is in relation to our internal principles/procedures and also our Pioneer training approaches. We have a company wide Pioneer Policies & Procedures document which is the foundation of the company procedures, approaches and general company culture. This is a significant document that has many principles for working and behaving as employees and it is crucial that senior staff such as the Training Co-Ordinator are positive advocates of the guidance in that document. Such as key health and safety guidance, safe working and also key internal operations like the "Prompt Communication Protocol" which ensures all staff respond within 3 days to all communication to avoid major delays and also single point of failure issues. Also our "Employee First" approach of focusing on people over profits by ensuring staff wellbeing is prioritized and they receive constant support due to intense nature of the job. The Training Manager and senior staff are expected to Champion these principles and approaches so that the whole company can have a healthy working culture and also achieve our societal goals.

Employee Wellbeing Champion



Pioneer Training Solutions prioritizes staff wellbeing and therefore we have a pro-active approach and strategy to implement it. Including having all senior staff act as Wellbeing Champions, so that is the Operations Manager, Training Support Manager and Training Co-Ordinators. Also, all administrators will act as Wellbeing Assistants to support senior staff with the implementation of our ongoing Wellbeing Strategy. Our Wellbeing strategy helps to ensure that we are pro-active, rather than only reactive to staff needs.

The Staff Wellbeing Plan includes monthly online reviews where relevant questions are answered, possibly via a channel such as Survey Monkey, and answers are fed back to the relevant Wellbeing Champions by the Administrators to follow-up. Our Wellbeing Champions will schedule a follow-up catch-up/1to1 meeting with staff to go through the feedback and see where support can be given or any work related issues can be addressed. Please see the Staff Wellbeing document for further information and Co-Ordinators will help develop and implement this plan.

Additional Requirements



Ability to oversee other staff members Positive management style that leads to good team spirit and approachable for staff Willingness to work shifts including evenings and in particular Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Evening/split shifts is normally 9am-4pm and then 6-8pm for days that evening work is required, which is expected to be twice a week. However, this is flexible and will be confirmed once training and client needs are assessed. Additional shift allowance renumeration is given for days worked. Optional Saturday overtime available if needed to meet client needs, but not compulsory. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form to satisfactorily perform the job role. Ability to keep accurate records and manage work load and cases Ability to keep clients private details confidential Follow company code of conduct and work in pairs and follow all risk and safety advice when supporting clients Full manual driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes. Disclosure/PVG Scheme and reference due to potential clients

Key Desirable Skills & Experience

Occasional/rotational evening shift required to be available for support staff. Shift Allowance - Additional 50 per evening shift worked. Evening shifts are 3 hours between 5am-8pm, but normally 6-8pm.
