The St Giles Trust seeks a Trainer/Assessor to deliver accredited training and support disadvantaged individuals in North Wales and Gwent. The role

25,000 per annum
Please note successful candidates should expect to be appointed at the starting point of the salary scale and consideration may be given to a higher salary depending on the experience of the individual.

The Role-

Through our Peer hub based in North Wales you will train people with lived-experience, who have faced disadvantage, to become professional advice, guidance and support workers, undertaking assured and accredited advice and guidance training, work placements whilst also receiving professional employment coaching and support.

- Our successful candidate will deliver group and 1 to 1 training sessions at our hub (with occasional delivery in Eastwood Park Prison) and assess the City & Guilds level 3 in Advice and Guidance qualification to women on work placements across Gwent. You will support learners to complete their training and qualifications and develop individual learning plans whilst also working proactively with the hub team to ensure learners progress and achieve their goals.

Key Deliverables

Plan, organise and deliver our City and Guilds Assured training course 'Learning to Advise' to project participants (and any other additional training required to address knowledge and skills gaps). Assess learners in work placements across Gwent to achieve the Level 3 Advice and Guidance Qualification. Support training delivery in Eastwood Park Prison when needed. Work in accordance with national and St Giles Trust quality assurance standards. Work with learners to produce realistic individual learning plans that are regularly reviewed and updated. Work with the wider team to identify and engage learners with the relevant potential, motivation and aptitude, taking part in participant interviews and providing a comprehensive induction. Make referrals to other services (where required) to address skills, qualification and experience gaps that can't be met through the hub. Maintain and update all records required for project monitoring purposes including learner progress records. Attend internal and external meetings, best practice seminars and continuous professional development opportunities as required. Be responsible for compliance with Estyn requirements. Work at all times in accordance with the Trust's code of conduct

Qualifications (Essential)

Level 3 Award in Education & Training or equivalent or willingness to achieve this. TAQA or equivalent assessors qualification or willingness to achieve this.

Knowledge

Knowledge of anti-discriminatory working practices, and the implications of both within the working environment Practical application of diversity awareness and unconscious bias in employment.
