Job Details
As a Transaction Team Lead Officer within the Payroll Team, you will play a key role in managing the delivery of payroll services for over 21,000 employees and 18,000 Local Government Pensioners across Fife Council. You'll lead a team responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, while maintaining high standards of customer service and compliance.
You will support the Team Manager in overseeing operational processes, implementing improvements, and ensuring service sustainability. A strong understanding of PAYE legislation is essential, knowledge and understanding of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), and the Scottish Teachers Pension Scheme (STPS) would be advantageous to succeed in this role.
The Person
We are looking for someone who has:
Considerable experience in a payroll, transactional or similar environment
Knowledge of standards and processes across transactional areas
A qualification at SCQF Level 8 (
e.g
HND, SVQ Level 4) in finance, business management, or equivalent experience
Strong leadership and team management skills
Experience in managing change and improving service delivery
Excellent communication, time management, and IT skills
A customer-focused approach and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
