Homelessness levels are currently at an all-time high, both locally and nationally, which provides robust challenges to our service.
Our work is extremely challenging, but also hugely rewarding, playing a part in trying to change lives for the better by tackling the issues related to homelessness, building new homes, and strengthening communities. Engaging with people at a local level, we support them by delivering services that improve their lives. Putting the customer needs at the heart of everything you do, you'll offer the best housing solutions with understanding and care.
Would you like an opportunity to join our team? You will play a pivotal role in making a significant difference to some of the most vulnerable people in the city.
You will deliver housing related support to enable them to transition into more settled accommodation using a holistic approach. This support will be delivered face-to-face in an office, in someone's home or out in the community, and over the telephone.
You will assist in ensuring that our homeless customers achieve a successful outcome in not only finding suitable settled accommodation, but in some cases dealing with and managing issues which may have contributed to them becoming homeless. You will benefit from job satisfaction in knowing that your efforts have improved the dignity, independence, and quality of life for your homeless customers.
Some of our customers can present with complex and challenging issues. You will work closely with other professional services, such as: Primary health care teams including mental health, police and probation services, social services both children's' and adult teams, a range of charitable and voluntary organisations who work closely with the homeless community. You will also work closely with other LCC housing teams to facilitate successful and sustainable accommodation for your customers.
If you have the ambition and drive to assist with this, then we look forward to hearing from you. You will be joining an experienced and supportive team of a team of dedicated Transitions Workers.
