About the role





The (Transport) Administrator is accountable for assisting the transport manager in the daily operation and performance of the transport department in accordance with budgetary constraints, legal compliance whilst achieving the best possible level of service to internal and external customers.


As a (Transport) Administrator you need to make sure that vehicles are safe and meet legal requirements, and making sure that drivers are aware of their duties in line relation to standards and ensure they are aware of legislation requirements.



To ensure the daily transport operations are run in order to meet the agreed KPIs.

Ensure deployment of employees and equipment to maximise transport efficiency

Ensure that good management practice and all processes are followed in order to ensure the health and safety of our employees and customers.

Ensure that all company and legal standards relating to transport are met or exceeded

Ensure all planned vehicle inspections / servicing / MOT's are carried out to the company audit standards operational manual.

Ensuring that all equipment is maintained to company standards and all reported defects are actioned promptly.

To ensure inductions and training are carried out as set by the Transport Manager

To liaise with internal / external customers and suppliers.

Deputise in the absence of the Transport Manager


Measures & Key Performance Indicators



To assist TM to achieve green standard Vehicle inspection and Transport audits

To assist TM in driver management to educate and achieve consistent improvement

To assist TM to achieve minimum 97% green requirement on POD father usage and recording

To assist TM to manage and reduce number of driver fault accidents

Meeting service targets within the operational capability of the team

Exploring opportunities within transport to exceed KPI targets

To ensure all customer deliveries are achieved to standard in sometimes challenging circumstances balancing customer requirements, operational capability and KPIs

To ensure the presentation of the vehicles and transport environment is at the standards required at all times To ensure the drivers operate within the guidelines set by legislation to provide a safe working environment

To help motivate and manage a team of people in sometimes challenging circumstances



Knowledge and skills required





Knowledge and experience of transport within a fast moving food distribution environment

Knowledge and experience of company and legislative requirements affecting the transport operation

Knowledge and experience of vehicle operations and maintenance

Effective planning and communication skills

Experience of working effectively within a team to provide customer service

Evidence of effective people supervision



We are looking for a part time applicant. We are looking for around 24 - 28 hours per week and we are flexible with times and days providing it's within Monday - Friday 8am to 4pm.
