We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Transport and Logistics Associate to join our supply chain team. This role involves managing and optimising logistics operations to ensure the efficient movement of goods across various channels. The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining seamless transportation, warehousing, and inventory processes, contributing to overall organisational efficiency. Prior experience in warehouse operations, materials handling, and logistics systems is highly desirable. The individual will also be responsible for managing vehicle transport across the business, including the monitoring of servicing, MOT compliance, and mileage records, with regular reporting to the finance team. Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee transportation management systems (TMS) to optimise delivery schedules.
Manage warehouse management system (WMS) activities, including inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping & receiving processes.
Implement category management strategies to improve stock organisation and product categorisation.
Analyse data to identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements for supply chain operations.
Liaise with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
Support process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and reducing costs.
Maintain accurate documentation related to purchases, inventory levels, and warehouse activities.
Assist with shipping & receiving tasks, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
Experience
Proven experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or supply chain management is preferred.
Hands-on experience with materials handling equipment like forklifts is desirable; forklift certification is a plus.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Knowledge of process optimisation techniques and supply chain best practices is beneficial.
Previous exposure to logistic procedures along with inventory control will be considered an asset.
