About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on, highly organised Site Manager to lead cleaning and operational activities at our busy transport depot. You'll be responsible for a team of 30 staff delivering high standards of bus and facility cleanliness, shunting and refuelling operations, and ensuring smooth day-to-day running of the site.
This is a fast-paced role requiring excellent time management, strong leadership, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The role operates on a 5-over-7 schedule, including weekend coverage, with evening/night shifts from 17:00 to 01:00. You'll report directly to the Operations Manager.
This is a fixed-term position for 12 months, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate based on performance and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of cleaning and shunting staff across multiple shifts
Oversee interior and exterior cleaning of buses and depot facilities
Coordinate safe parking, shunting, and refuelling of vehicles
Create and manage rotas, holiday schedules, and shift cover
Conduct HR meetings including return-to-work interviews, sickness reviews, and disciplinary investigations
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and operational protocols
Maintain accurate records and reports using Microsoft Office tools
Liaise with clients and internal teams to ensure service quality and resolve issues promptly
Report directly to the Operations Manager, providing updates and performance insights
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in team management within cleaning, transport, or logistics
Strong organisational and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Confident communicator with a practical, hands-on approach
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and HR procedures
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as part of a rotating schedule
