We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Transport Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing excellent customer service and eager to develop within the company. This role is primarily administrative, focusing on managing customer enquiries, coordinating shipments, and ensuring seamless operations from the initial booking to final invoicing. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining efficiency and high standards within our groupage and pallet network services.
2.0 Responsibilities
2.1 Customer Support
Act as the first point of contact for customers, providing professional and friendly service.
Proactively monitor and track shipments, keeping customers informed of their status.
Manage and resolve delivery issues promptly to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Handle customer complaints professionally, escalating where necessary to ensure resolution within agreed service levels.
Generate and issue customer quotations in a timely manner.
Liaise with suppliers and transport partners to arrange deliveries and collections, following company purchasing policies.
Process invoices accurately and efficiently for customers.
Raise purchase orders and ensure correct documentation is maintained.
Input jobs into the system and coordinate with the planning team to ensure smooth processing.
Maintain accurate records and ensure all paperwork is correctly filed.
Scan and upload proof of deliveries (PODs) to customer systems as required.
2.2 Skills & Competencies
Strong customer service skills, projecting a positive and professional attitude at all times.
Excellent IT proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organisational skills and keen attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, working well within a team.
Knowledge of the logistics or shipping industry would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
Experience using industry-related IT packages such as Sage and Access is beneficial.
