The role is a part of Carrier's company -

SLD Pumps & Power

which is one of the UK's leading suppliers of pumps and generator rental equipment. Currently we are looking for a Transport Coordinator to join our team in Livingston.

As a Transport Coordinator you will be responsible for:

Working closely with the Depot Managers and Operations Supervisors to act quickly where problems arise, contributing to an open system of communication to ensure the consistent treatment of problems Assisting the depots in ensuring vehicles and associated equipment are maintained to a high standard in keeping with both Statutory and Company Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards Adhering to all Health and Safety Procedures within the transport environment Ensuring adherence to all Company Policies and Procedures Being fully conversant and compliant with all Environmental Health and Safety procedures Completing quarterly ethics modules as advised by the Ethics & Compliance Officer (ECO) Fully complying with all Quality, Environmental Health and Safety directives including but not limited to PPE, Accident Reporting, Cardinal Rules, Risk Assessment Method Statement (RAMS), and Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Engaging with the Sales Team and Hire Controllers to apply transport costs competitively and in line with current market trends Regularly reviewing and engaging with external hauliers to achieve competitive pricing Coordinating internal transport between depots effectively, reducing costs Identifying areas of opportunity from Company Management Accounts to save costs on transport and fuel

Who we're looking for

To be successful in the role you should have:

Previous experience in the similar role

Good geographical knowledge An understanding of driving hours and laws An understanding of the requirements of loading and unloading of HGV vehicles Good communication skills by phone and email Good organizational skills
