Job Overview:
We are currently recruiting a full-time Transport Coordinator for our Transport team at Wardle, Nantwich.
You will be part of the Transport Team, an integral part of the Boughey operation and will be responsible for controlling the efficient deployment and routing of delivery vehicles around the UK. This will include route planning, allocating resources and administrating delivery metrics on a day-to-day basis. You will help deliver a first-class customer service through agreed KPI's that maximise vehicle, equipment and manpower utilisation within a targeted budget whilst maintaining service requirements of work allocated to the resource pool. You will also contribute towards workplace health & safety standards whilst ensuring regulatory compliance is adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:
Leverage geographical knowledge to optimise fleet efficiency.
Manage and supervise driver workloads to ensure smooth running of the operation.
Maintain consistent communication with drivers and depot staff.
Ensure timely deliveries through tracking software and regular updates.
Address driver queries in person or via phone.
Report any tracker errors to the Transport Planning Manager.
Proactively keep drivers informed of road conditions and challenges to ensure timely deliveries.
Coordinate in conjunction with the Operations Department to ensure that vehicle and trailer maintenance schedules are executed without failure.
Collaborate with Transport Planning Manager and Delivery Service Team to exchange crucial information, such as estimated times of arrival (ETAs) on deliveries. It is expected ALL communication surrounding delivery issues is communicated in every instance to the above teams with all detail needed in that communication.
Ensure regular communication with all drivers under your supervision, all drivers must be spoken to in person on the phone in first 4 hours of the drivers shift.
In conjunction with the Operations team ensure that vehicles are fully manned with permanent and temporary driver resources based on operational need.
Complete and distribute daily handovers according to the KPIs set by your Transport Planning Supervisor.
Develop a weekly resource plan to ensure the effective and efficient use of drivers, vehicles, and equipment, in line with KPIs set by the Transport Planning Management team.
Administer customer requirements in a timely and controlled manner, ensuring compliance with the contractual obligations between Boughey and its customers, is adhered to.
Prioritise customer service expectations while maintaining commercial awareness and profitability.
Always look for opportunities to reduce empty running and enhance network efficiency - If need plan replan and plan again.
Review delivery schedules periodically to ensure service and revenue targets are met, adapting to changes in customer demand to suit the operational needs of Boughey's Operation to maximise utilisation and profitability.
Support and deliver on the Company mission, vision and live and promote the Company values.
Liaise with relevant internal stakeholders to maintain the highest standards with due regard to Customer requirements and in line with HARA, BRCGS and any other internal or external legislation/audits.

What we are looking for:
Previous experience of working as a Transport Planner/Coordinator within a busy, fast paced transport office
Proven ability to monitor and manage drivers effectively.
A strong understanding of transport operating systems
Familiarity with tachograph regulations.
Well-organised, methodical, and able to prioritize tasks independently.
Excellent interpersonal skills, good at relationship building and a strong communicator.
Ability to plan, prioritise, work to deadlines, without supervision and on their own initiative.
High energy, drive, and enthusiasm.
Meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.
Working knowledge in TMS Systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) - (Essential)
Knowledge of the Working Time Directive (WTD) and EU Drivers Hours regulations - (Essential)
CPC International Qualification (Desirable)
