Job Description

AJN Steelstock Ltd are looking for a motivated individual to work closely with the Transport Manager, liaise with Drivers throughout the day, and support the administration and coordination of the department.

Shift: 10.00 - 18.30 / 40 hours per week / Monday - Friday (training 08.00 - 16.30)

Experience: In-house training will be provided; experience working in transport or admin would be beneficial but is not essential. Being computer literate would be desirable.

Duties include:

Being the Driver liaison (point of contact for Drivers) Being able to deal with driver queries and missing material in an efficient and timely manner, giving estimated times of arrival, sorting collections and updating the system with new delivery addresses etc. Carrying out vehicle licence checks, ensuring they are in date and valid. Maintaining accurate and up to date records Maintaining and managing the Truck-file, ensuring that daily checks are carried out and maintenance of vehicles is regularly performed, such as MOTs, servicing etc. Being able to use the tracking system to monitor driver movements Assisting with the routing of lorries Assisting in adjusting/cancelling orders as appropriate, collating, printing and distributing all picking tickets, dispatch notes, confirmation of loads and any other administration tasks as required to support the Logistics Department Attending all training courses when required Following all safe systems of work at all times. Identifying and reporting any shortcomings that become apparent whilst undertaking tasks or if the tasks change or new activities are undertaken. Liaising with the HS&E department to ensure such risks are assessed and procedures amended as necessary Actively engaging in the identification of risks within the workplace and the subsequent assessment development of suitable safe systems of work. When necessary, intervening to prevent breaches of health and safety and/or report as necessary Following the requirements of the Company Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures to help achieve a quality product for the customer and reduce the non-conformances Following the requirements of the Company Environmental Management System to assist the Company's objective to reduce the detrimental effect on the environment by way of waste management and any other areas to improve the environmental impact
