Sigma is a family-owned and family-run business, which has been serving Independent Pharmacies, Dispensing Doctors, and Hospitals for over 40 years. Being one of the largest independent pharmacy wholesalers in the UK meeting the independent needs of customers is at our heart.

We are currently seeking a Transport Delivery Manager to assist in the daily running of our fast paced transport department. The Delivery Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all customer deliveries across Sigma Pharmaceuticals' vehicle fleet (covering both 3.5t and HGV), ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery operations.

Key Responsibilities



Oversee daily delivery operations for both 3.5t and HGV vehicles, ensuring routes are planned and executed effectively. Analyse delivery performance, costs, and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement. Liaise with customer service, warehouse, and transport colleagues to ensure delivery schedules meet business and customer needs. Implement and manage delivery planning technology to optimise accuracy and efficiency. Ensure compliance with drivers' hours, Working Time Directive, and transport legislation. Monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, mileage efficiency, and service quality. Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives in delivery operations, including route optimisation, vehicle utilisation, and reduced mileage. Work closely with the Fleet Manager and Resource Manager to ensure vehicles and drivers are available, prepared, and supported to complete deliveries successfully.

Key Skills



Proven experience managing delivery operations or transport planning in a logistics environment. Familiarity with route planning, scheduling, and telematics systems Knowledge of transport compliance and legislation for 3.5t and HGV vehicles Ability to identify efficiencies and implement cost-saving measures. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
