We are now looking to appoint a Transport First Line Manager (FLM) to join our busy Transport team. This is a key role where you'll oversee the day-to-day planning and management of our Loading team, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant movement of goods. You will also support the Transport Manager with fleet logistics and daily planning.



What you'll be doing:

Issue daily workloads, ensuring correct loads, vehicles, and skillsets are allocated. Build flexibility into the transport schedule to meet unanticipated customer needs. Continually review and improve operational plans to deliver excellent service. Use initiative and team collaboration to resolve challenges effectively. Report daily updates, issues, and improvements to the Transport Manager. Communicate regularly with other departments to ensure smooth operations. Manage Loading team KPIs including performance, absence, and training. Support with investigations into customer concerns.


What we're looking for:

Strong knowledge of transport processes. Good geographical knowledge of the UK. Previous experience managing and leading a team. Confident communicator both written and verbal. IT skills including data analysis; SAP knowledge advantageous. Previous route planning experience desirable. Strong attention to detail with a proactive, can-do attitude.
