We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Transport Manager to oversee and coordinate the company's transportation operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing logistics, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining excellent customer service standards. This role requires strong leadership, management skills, and a comprehensive understanding of supply chain processes. The ideal applicant will possess excellent communication skills, IT proficiency, and the ability to optimise transportation efficiency across multiple departments.
Responsibilities
Plan, organise, and supervise daily transportation activities to ensure efficient delivery schedules.
Manage a team of drivers and logistics personnel, providing leadership and support to optimise performance.
Coordinate with suppliers, clients, and internal departments using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Analyse logistics data to identify areas for improvement in cost-efficiency and service quality.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance supply chain operations while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle logs, and driver hours using computer literacy skills.
Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to driving hours, vehicle safety, and transportation regulations.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to facilitate smooth operations and resolve any issues promptly.
Experience
Proven management experience within logistics or supply chain environments.
Strong driving background with valid driving licences suitable for company vehicles or lorries.
Extensive knowledge of logistics processes, supply chain management, and transportation planning.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) along with IT systems relevant to logistics management.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently under pressure.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative working environment.
Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
