Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Transport Manager to oversee the efficient operation of our transportation and logistics functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a team, coordinating supply chain activities, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of logistics management within a fast-paced environment. The successful applicant will play a key role in maintaining high standards of customer service while optimising operational efficiency.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate daily transportation activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and delivery deadlines Manage logistics planning, including route optimisation and load planning to maximise efficiency Oversee the maintenance and compliance of company vehicles, including 3.5t vans Lead and motivate the transport team, providing training and support to enhance performance Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure smooth communication and operations Utilise management software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) to prepare reports, schedules, and correspondence Monitor budgetary controls related to transportation costs and implement cost-saving measures where applicable Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies Analyse data related to supply chain performance to identify areas for improvement Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle maintenance, driver logs, and other relevant documentation

Experience

Proven management experience within logistics or supply chain operations Strong driving record with valid driving licence suitable for operating company vehicles . Extensive knowledge of logistics processes, supply chain management, and transportation planning Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook; IT literacy is essential Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a dynamic environment Strong leadership qualities with proven ability to motivate teams and manage multiple stakeholders Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal Customer service orientation with a focus on delivering high standards of client satisfaction Experience in using transport management systems or similar IT solutions is desirable
