About the Role

As Transport Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth, compliant, and efficient running of all our transport activities. Working closely with senior leadership and driver teams, you will be responsible for managing the logistics, safety, and performance of our transport department, helping to deliver excellence to our customers every single day.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the smooth and compliant day-to-day running of all transport activities Work with senior leadership to align transport operations with company goals Oversee upkeep, servicing, and legal compliance of all company vehicles Manage driver scheduling, including rotas, time reporting, and holiday approvals Lead and develop a team of professional drivers Ensure company policies and industry regulations are fully implemented and followed Track departmental budgets and maintain financial accountability Conduct driver interviews, reviews, and internal training sessions Order and manage all transport-related equipment and supplies Handle customer complaints and provide resolutions quickly and professionally Deliver products (e.g. fuel, lubricants) during peak times or emergencies when required Respond to incidents and coordinate emergency support Maintain excellent relationships with suppliers and service partners Monitor and report on KPIs relating to vehicle and driver performance Drive continuous improvement across the transport department Be available on-call during evenings/weekends for critical transport needs Coach, mentor, and support development of transport staff

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who is:

A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Experienced in transport or logistics management, preferably with multi-site operations. Knowledgeable in driving regulations and vehicle compliance. Skilled in time management, planning, and problem-solving. IT proficient (especially MS Office). Analytical with great attention to detail. Flexible, resilient, and self-motivated. Passionate about continuous improvement and leading by example.
