We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Transport Manager to oversee the efficient operation of our transportation and logistics services. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire supply chain process, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining high standards of customer service. Duties
Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily transportation operations to optimise efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Manage a team of drivers and logistics personnel, providing leadership and support to ensure smooth operations.
Oversee scheduling and routing of deliveries, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and safety standards.
Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and liaise with service providers to ensure fleet reliability.
Utilise Microsoft Office programmes including Word, Excel, and Outlook to prepare reports, maintain records, and communicate effectively with team members.
Develop and implement logistics strategies that improve supply chain performance.
Maintain excellent customer service standards by resolving issues promptly and professionally.
Analyse operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations within the transport department.
Experience
Proven management experience within logistics or supply chain environments.
Strong driving background with valid driving licences suitable for managing a fleet of vehicles.
Extensive knowledge of logistics operations, supply chain management, and transportation planning.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and IT systems related to logistics management.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Demonstrated leadership ability with strong organisational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Experience in customer service roles within a transport or logistics setting is desirable.
Ability to analyse data critically and develop strategic solutions for operational improvements.
