The Role

We are looking for an experienced

Transport Manager

to oversee our daily transport operations, ensure compliance with all legal and safety regulations, and manage our team of drivers and vehicles efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day transport operations and ensure smooth fleet scheduling. Manage driver performance, ensuring compliance with tachograph and Working Time Directive regulations. Maintain the company's Operator's Licence requirements and ensure full DVSA compliance. Liaise with customers, planning team, and workshop to ensure timely deliveries and maintenance schedules. Handle incident reports, infringements, and driver training/discipline when required. Monitor costs, fuel usage, and fleet efficiency to optimise performance. Ensure all records, including maintenance, driver hours, and vehicle checks, are up to date and auditable.

Requirements

CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification - Essential*.
Proven experience as a Transport Manager or in a similar role within the haulage/logistics sector. Strong understanding of UK road transport legislation and compliance. Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills. IT literate with experience in transport management software. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
