We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Transport Manager to oversee the efficient operation of our logistics and transportation services ASAP. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, a solid understanding of supply chain processes, and excellent communication abilities. Duties
Manage daily transportation operations, ensuring adherence to schedules and budget constraints
Coordinate with suppliers, drivers, and other stakeholders to optimise routes and delivery times
Supervise and support the transport team, providing leadership and training as needed
Oversee compliance with safety regulations and company policies across all transport activities
Analyse logistics data using Microsoft Excel and other IT tools to improve efficiency
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle maintenance, and driver logs using organisational software such as Microsoft Outlook and Word
Develop and implement strategies for cost reduction while maintaining high service levels
Liaise with customer service teams to resolve any issues related to deliveries or logistics
Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules to ensure fleet reliability and safety standards are met
Prepare reports on transportation performance metrics for senior management review
Qualifications
Proven experience in management within logistics or supply chain environments
Strong driving record with valid licences suitable for managing fleet operations
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and IT systems relevant to logistics management
Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards in the UK
Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative working environment
Customer service orientation with a focus on delivering high-quality service standards
Strong analytical skills for interpreting logistics data and implementing process improvements
