Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced and proactive Transport Manager to oversee and coordinate the organisation of our transportation operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing logistics, ensuring efficient supply chain processes, and leading a team to deliver excellent customer service. This role requires strong management skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to optimise transport procedures to meet organisational objectives.

Duties



Plan, organise, and supervise daily transportation activities to ensure timely delivery of goods. Manage a team of drivers and logistics staff, providing leadership and support to optimise performance. Coordinate routes and schedules using IT systems to maximise efficiency and minimise costs. Oversee compliance with legal regulations related to driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and safety standards. Monitor supply chain operations, resolving any issues that may disrupt delivery schedules. Maintain accurate records of transportation activities using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure seamless communication and service delivery. Analyse logistics data to identify areas for process improvements and implement necessary changes. Ensure all transport activities adhere to organisational policies and health & safety regulations.

Skills



Proven management experience within logistics or supply chain environments. Preferably car hire sector. Strong driving skills with a valid driving licence relevant to organisational requirements. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and IT systems related to logistics management. Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Customer service orientation with the ability to handle queries professionally. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative working environment. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in planning routes, schedules, and documentation. Good understanding of supply chain principles, logistics processes, and transport regulations.
